Students in Spearfish are set to get more than $230,000 in new technology next school year.
The Spearfish School Board recently approved a technology purchasing plan that officials say will help the district make important upgrades come fall 2013.
The district's director of technology, Scott Hardesty, says that the upgrades in part will allow schools to support wireless and provide higher bandwidth.
Hardesty says the district rarely spends all of its $250,000 annual budget. After the infrastructure updates, the approved budget will buy software licenses, subscriptions and about $53,000 on laptops, batteries, digital cameras and other equipment.
