Pierre Avenges Title Loss To O'Gorman

YANKTON, S.D. --  For two years the Pierre girl's golf team has had the state's best individual golfer in Hallie Getz.

This season they had the best team.  Getz easily won her second consecutive team title, eight shots clear of the runner up.

And the rest of her teammates also shined, helping the Govs win the team title by three strokes over O'Gorman, which had a bit of extra irony to it.

"Last year we were leading first day and O'Gorman outplayed us the second day, and this year it was just reversed.  You know, much tougher golf course of course, but the girls just didn't give up and kind of hung with it and we ended up winning by a couple.  So it was quite a battle."  Pierre Head Coach John Knox says.
