Theismann, Greenway "Kid" Around At Legends

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. --  Whether it's raising money or holding camps, the Hy-Vee Legends event is all about the kids.

But to teach the game, today's football legends Chad Greenway and Joe Theismann, say you have to have a little kid in you.

Theismann and the Mt. Vernon native Greenway were at Augie today helping teach kids football in various drills.  The current and former pro both say the important thing for kids and parents is that the kids have fun and not limit themselves to playing just one sport.

Greenway and Theismann both say that you still have to have a lot of little kid in you to play football even at the highest level.

"Even at our level and our game you try to keep the game at a kid's level.  You play the game to have fun, don't take it too serious.  Obviously it's high impact entertainment, but at the same point it's a kid's game that we play."  Greenway Says.

"And we see kids in tennis burn out so quick because they push them so hard, so young.  Golf's the same way.  I think in football, it's one of those sports where, if you start them like I did at the age of 12, 10, 11 or 12 years old, let them go out and enjoy themselves.  They're little guys running into one another.  Have a good time but make it a fun experience."  Theismann says.
