Cars and models change over the years. Just like these cars, the Automania Car Show has changed too.
You can still look at Lamborghinis or this 1970 Road Runner Superbird, but their location is different.
After several years of being located in Sioux Falls, Automania has found a new home in Brandon and several seem to be adjusting just fine to the new site.
“I love having automania in Brandon. It’s a bigger venue and hopefully a little more room for people to move around and see the cars,” said car owner, Terry Engelmann.
Event organizers say switching the site to Brandon is something they have been wanting.
When the show was downtown Sioux Falls, planners were in a time crunch, having only about 90 minutes to set up. In Brandon, they just had more time.
“We’re out of time. We’re out of room. We’ve loved being in Sioux Falls. We’ve loved the opportunity to be there but we have the opportunity to close the road in Brandon at nine in the morning,” said event coordinator, Bill Nelson.
Even though the event is not in Sioux Falls, Nelson feels the numbers will continue to climb.
“We see a lot of people come from smaller communities in the Midwest. I think it was too hectic and too busy for them in Sioux Falls. We had a small window to put it together. It was very busy, very quickly,” said Nelson.
