One man is in jail and two people were taken to the hospital after a stabbing in Sioux Falls.

41-year-old Ricardo Jacobo Reyes was arrested and charged with aggravated assault domestic, aggravated assault, sliming (assault with bodily fluids), resisting arrest, and interference will emergency communications.

Police received two phone calls from a residence on the 1400 Block of North Main Street between 7:00 and 7:30 Monday evening.  According to Information Officer Sam Clemens, the first call was to have someone removed from the home. During this call, Clemens says it appeared that a struggle was occurring.  The second call was to report a stabbing.

Clemens says that it appears that Reyes and his wife were arguing when her nephew tried to separate the two.  Reyes' wife was stabbed twice in the arm and her nephew was stabbed once in the left shoulder by a kitchen knife.  Both the wife and nephew went to the hospital.  Reyes' wife also had a black eye.

After police arrived, they searched for Reyes and found him west of Falls Park a short time later.

While officers were arresting Reyes, he spat in the face of an officer.

Police said in the report that Reyes was intoxicated at the time.
