A South Dakota artist is the winner of the 2013 federal duck stamp contest.
Adam Grimm, of Burbank, placed first in the annual U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service art contest. There were 202 entries.
Grimm's oil painting of a canvasback will be made into the 2014-15 federal duck stamp, which will go on sale in late June 2014.
The stamp sells for $15 and raises about $25 million each year to help conserve and protect wetlands.
It's the second time that Grimm, an Ohio native, has won the contest. His art previously appeared on the 2000-01 federal duck stamp.
The results were announced Saturday. Hoyt Smith of Tulsa, Okla., placed second and Ron Louque, of Charlottesville, Va., finished third.
