Washington & Roosevelt Open State Softball With Wins

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.  --  It wasn't softball weather, but the state softball tournament began on Friday afternoon with several close games. 

In one of the morning's first Class A games, 5th seeded Roosevelt shutout 4th seed Watertown 3-0. 

2nd seed Washington went back and forth with 7th seed Brookings before finally winning 8-6.

Scores will be updated as we receive them on the KDLT Sports Scoreboard.  The state championship game is scheduled for 2 PM tomorrow at Sherman Park.  The Class B tournament will start tomorrow as well and end on Sunday.
