Man Arrested In Connection With House Fire

Mitchell Police have arrested a man in connection with a vacant home fire in Mitchell.
32-year-old Robert Isaac Pomani of Mitchell was arrested for reckless burning.
According to the Mitchell Police Department, on Friday morning Pomani allegedly walked through the home located at 615 West 4th Avenue with a lit candle in a glass container. Pomani says that he set the candle down in the attached garage and placed paper on top of the candle in order to extinguish the fire. He then left the home.
The fire caused approximately 80,000 dollars in damage.
Pomani, who claimed to have worked as a fireman in the past, faces 10 years in prison and a 20,000 dollar fine if convicted.
