Jacks Grab #2 Seed For Summit Soccer Tournament

ELMHURST, Ill. – Denver claims the top seed for the upcoming Summit League Women’s Soccer Championship after registering a perfect 7-0-0 league record.
The 2013 women’s soccer tournament takes place Nov. 8 & 10, at the Hefner Soccer Complex in Fort Wayne, Ind., and is hosted by IPFW.
League newcomer Denver, ranked No. 13 in the nation, earned the No. 1 seed after surrendering just one goal in its seven league matches. In league matches, the Pioneers led the way with 25 goals and 24 assists. Denver was also tops in shots (138), goals against average (0.14) and save percentage (0.933).
With a 6-1-0 league record, second-seeded South Dakota State is making its fifth tournament appearance in the last six years and second as the No. 2 seed. North Dakota State is the No. 3 seed for the second-straight year and is also making its fifth tournament appearance in the last six years. No. 4 Fort Wayne advances to the tournament for the second consecutive year after a runner-up finish last season.
No. 1 Denver (16-1-1, 7-0-0 Summit) faces No. 4 Fort Wayne (6-11-1, 3-3-1 Summit) in game one Friday, at 5 p.m. (ET). No. 2 South Dakota State (11-4-2, 6-1-0 Summit) will meet No. 3 North Dakota State (8-9-0, 4-3-0 Summit) in Friday’s second match, kicking-off at approximately 8 p.m. (ET).
The tournament concludes with Sunday’s championship match at Noon (ET). The winner claims The Summit League’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

5 p.m. - Match One: (1) Denver vs. (4) Fort Wayne
8 p.m. - Match Two: (2) South Dakota State vs. (3) North Dakota State
Sunday, Nov. 10
Noon – Championship Match: Winner Match 1 vs. Winner Match 2
