Sen. Thune Sets Railroad Hearing Before His Committee

Sen. John Thune has scheduled a hearing over rail transportation problems for the committee he now chairs.

The Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation will discuss challenges in the nation’s freight rail network blamed on higher demand, pending and proposed rules and regulations, and infrastructure needs.

It’s scheduled for Wednesday morning in Washington.

The South Dakota Republican became chairman of the committee with the GOP now in the majority.
