5 Dead; Authorities to Release More Details Of Georgia Shooting
Authorities say they’ll discuss more details Monday of a weekend shooting in which a gunman killed four people and wounded two others before taking his own life in a neighborhood west of Atlanta.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old Cedric G. Prather died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after fatally shooting his ex-wife, another adult and two children Saturday in Douglasville.
Sheriff’s deputy Lt. Glenn Daniel says authorities will hold a news conference at midmorning Monday in the community 20 miles west of Atlanta.
The sheriff’s office identified the other adults killed as Latoya A. Andrews, Prather’s ex-wife; and Joseph Terry Brown. Both were 33 years old. A 7-year-old child and a 9-year-old also died and two more children were wounded.
