Yankton Missing Child Update

Sunday evening at approximately 7:29pm, a call came to the Yankton Dispatch reporting a missing 6 year old male that had been with family members fishing on the boat dock at Riverside Park in Yankton. Family members say the child went missing and were unable to locate him. Law enforcement and Yankton County Search and Rescue responded to Riverside Park and began a ground search. Yankton County Search and Rescue also utilized their Dive team in the boat dock area.

Search and Rescue efforts continue on the waters of the Missouri River and adjacent lands. Those responders assisting in the effort include the Yankton Police Department, Yankton County Sherriff’s Office, Yankton County Search and Rescue, South Dakota Game Fish and Parks, Nebraska Game Fish and Parks, Cedar County Emergency Management, Brookings Dog Team, and Yankton County Emergency Management.

The 6 Year old white male was last seen wearing tan pants, green shirt, tan shoes and has blonde hair and wears glasses. The name of the missing child is not being released at this time.
