KDLT Mother’s Day Giveaway Recipe: Buster Bars

A couple weeks ago, we asked you send in submissions to our KDLT Mother’s Day Giveaway contest explaining why your mom is the best.
We narrowed it down to the top three submissions, and one of those finalists is going to win a prize package worth more than $1,000.
Those finalists also submitted their favorite recipe to us, which we are going to try and make in the KDLT Kitchen.
On Wednesday, we tried out Buster Bars, which is a recipe from Jean Rose Phillipe, submitted to us by her kids: Renee, Shelly, Jackie and Jennifer.
Buster Bar Dessert
Mix one box of crushed Oreo cookie mixture (you can buy this already crushed) with 1/2 cup of softened butter. Pat the mixture in a 9×13 inch pan, and chill in the freezer.
Spread a half gallon of vanilla ice cream slightly softened over crushed cookie mixture. Ice cream in a box works best because you can cut it in pieces to fit in the pan, then spread the soft ice cream over the crust.
Pour 1½ cups of Spanish peanuts over the ice cream and top with one or two jars of Mrs. Richard’s Hot Fudge. Freeze again, and enjoy!
