Mitchell’s Jacob Cersosimo doesn’t lack in energy.
“My senior year I played six sports. Football, golf, hockey, power lifting, tennis and baseball. So I’ve been a busy kid!” Jacob says.
“My sophomore year on my driver’s license I looked like I’m 12, and so I just started growing my hair out. I think the last time I cut it was about a year ago.” Cersosimo says.
Whatever sport Cersosimo plays he usually becomes the Kernels leader.
“He just has an ability to mentally be ready for every match. You know there’s a lot of pressure playing number one in the state, doesn’t matter what school you’re playing for. His ability to handle that pressure and turn that into some wins is something the rest of our team feeds off of.” Mitchell Tennis Head Coach Pat Moller says.
Jacobs emotions aren’t tied just to the game. In fact they’re tied around his hair.
“I plan to donate it this Christmas to Locks for Love. My grandma had breast cancer a long time ago, kind of hit me. Actually had a mentor, my biggest inspiration, the late Rob Marchand. He died of prostate cancer back in August. He was my golf coach. He probably taught me the most as a kid besides my parents. It just hits home all the time. And I know a lot of people that have it, I know a lot of people that are effected by it. So just to do a little nice thing that I can do.” Jacob says.
After graduation and a hair cut, Cersosimo will try to join the tennis team at St. Cloud State before putting all his energy toward another career.
“I’m going to go into broadcasting like this, yup! So this is Jacob Cersosimo from McKennan Park for KDLT Sports.”
