Jurassic World Claims Top Spot Two Weekend In A Row
“Jurassic World” maintained its reign atop the box office this weekend. Universal’s fourth installment of the franchise raked in $102 million in its second weekend in theaters. It’s only the second film to break $100 million in its second week—“The Avengers” made $103 million in its second week.
Coming in second is the Pixar film “Inside Out” with $91 million in its debut. Ticket sales were fueled in part by rave reviews from critics, but after two decades of 14 straight number one releases, “Inside Out” is the first Pixar film not to open in first place.
Coming in third was Melissa McCarthy’s “Spy” with $10 million in its third week in theaters.
