As a six time South Dakota state wrestling champion, Webster’s Logan Storley dabbled with mixed martial arts.

“Started doing it more when I was a freshman, sophomore, just playing around with it, nothing serious. And then after I took those few amateur fights I really enjoyed it.” Storley says.

Now it’s a living…..

“I just want to get better. Each training camp I want to improve, get better and, hopefully within the next two years, get my shot of going to UFC.” Logan says.

…And drawing inevitable comparisons to another former Webster wrestler turned MMA fighter, former UFC champion Brock Lesnar.

“You know I’m not doing WWE, I’m not doing all these other things. Right now I’m just focused on MMA. But Brock’s been a big role model of mine. Seen him train many times, went up to his place, but we’re definitely a lot different people.” Storley says.

Different fighters perhaps, but those who’ve seen Storley at work think could be just as successful.

“Especially with South Dakota wrestling background which we love. He’s got all the skills, he’ll get it done.” MMA Fighter Devin Clark Says.

“Sky is the limit for the kid. He’s coming straight out of the NCAA Tournament and his wrestling is on par with the best wrestling that’s in MMA. He learns so fast, he’s so athletic.” MMA Fighter Jordon Larson says.

It showed in his first professional fight at RFA 29, with Logan winning via knockout just two and a half minutes into the first round.

“It was nuts. It meant a lot to me to be in front of my home crowd in my home state!” Storley says.

Just because Logan Storley is serious about MMA, doesn’t mean he still can’t have a little fun!
