Stampede Acquire Gicewicz & Draft Picks From Lincoln

The Sioux Falls Stampede announced Thursday they have acquired forward Carson Gicewicz and two draft picks in the 2016 USHL Draft in exchange for forward Colin Peters.

Gicewicz appeared in 41 games this season with the Stars, posting 11 points (3g, 8a). The Orchard Park, NY native spent last season skating with Nichols School in Buffalo, NY where he recorded 12 points (7g, 5a) in 15 games. He was originally selected by the Youngstown Phantoms in 2013 Futures Draft and appeared in three games with the Phantoms during the 2013-14 season. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound center has already committed to play collegiate hockey at St. Lawrence University where he will join current Stampede defenseman Garrett Cecere.

In addition to adding Gicewicz to the Stampede roster, the Herd also acquired a 2016 Phase I draft choice and a 2016 Phase II draft choice from the Stars.

Gicewicz will wear #11 and is eligible to play Friday when the Herd host his former team, the Lincoln Stars, at 7:05 PM.
