Former first lady Nancy Reagan has died.

The former actress who was married to Ronald Reagan for 52 years died of congestive heart failure today at her home in the Bel-Air neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Former Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney commented on the passing.

“With the passing of Nancy Reagan, we say a final goodbye to the days of Ronald Reagan. With charm, grace, and a passion for America, this couple reminded us of the greatness and the endurance of the American experiment.” Romney says.

Her best-known project as first lady was the “Just Say No” to drugs campaign.

In later years, she served as full-time caretaker to her husband as he battled Alzheimer’s, and raised millions of dollars for research into the mind-robbing disease.
