South Dakota Artist Terry Redlin Passes Away At 78
The executive director of the Redlin Art Center in Watertown has confirmed well-known South Dakota artist Terry Redlin passed away late Sunday night, April 24. Redlin was 78 years old.
Julie Ranum says she expects to release a statement regarding Redlin’s death sometime Monday.
According to the Redlin Art Center website, Redlin was named America’s Most Popular Artist by U.S. ART Magazine eight years in a row from 1991 through 1998. Redlin was inducted into the U.S. ART Hall of Fame in 1992. He is best known for his wildlife, landscape and outdoor art pieces, including his famed “America the Beautiful” series which features eight pieces depicting the first stanza of the song of the same name.
