East Side Plaza Getting Major Upgrades

The East Side Plaza in Sioux Falls is getting a $1.5 million upgrade over the next year.

The 40-year-old building will receive a facelift, changing the look of the building. There are plans for a new sign, parking lot, lighting and landscaping around the building as well.

“The exterior will receive a much more contemporary feel,” said Scott Schoenen, co-owner and property manager.

Current businesses in the store are Austad’s Golf, Family Dollar, Beds & Beds, The Upper Cut Bar & Grill and Safe Ship Specialty Shipping.

A separate building that has Tomacelli’s Pizza and Pasta and Players Club Casino will be updated in a future phase of construction.

Beds & Beds has plans to vacate its store space. During the renovation, Schoenen has plans to divide the space into two store spaces at approximately 2,000 square feet each.

The businesses plan to remain open during construction.
