The UPS Store Encourages Everyone To Salute Small Businesses

There is nothing small about small business. In fact, American small businesses account for 54% of all U.S. sales according to the Small Business Administration.

To satisfy small business owners’ appetite for success, The UPS Store is launching its annual Small Biz Salute campaign.

On Monday, KDLT’s Kevin Hurd was joined by satellite with Entrepreneur and Host of CNBC’s The Profit, Marcus Lemonis and The UPS Store President, Tim Davis, to talk more about an annual initiative to get people shopping at small businesses.

The annual event is called the “Small Biz Salute” campaign. The UPS Store is running it through the month of May; they encourage people to use the hashtag #smallbizsalute on social media.

“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy,” Davis said.

Lemonis highlighted some of the fundamentals potential entrepreneur should have in order before launching a business, including: a business plan, the right people, cash and research to know whether the product or service is needed.

Lemonis goes on to say that saluting small businesses should not stop at using a hashtag.

“Make a statement with your wallet; try to make an effort to do businesses at those places,” he said.
