100+ Women Who Care Prepare For Sunday Fundraiser

100+ Women Who Care is holding their second biannual fundraiser event this Sunday. They meet twice a year, vote on an organization to raise money for, and then donate. You are invited to help!

Sondra Kimball with 100+ Women Who Care says the organization is a group of women who gather twice a year and each pledge $100 to donate to a chosen charity. She says during their meetings, three women are selected at random to present who they think the donations should go toward. Each woman gets fives minutes to present, then the rest of the group votes and each donates $100.

Earlier this year, 100+ Women Who Care chose the Family Visitation Center and donated $18,500. Carol Woltjer with the Family Visitation Center says that money helped them buy a new vehicle to provide transportation for children. The Family Visitation Center is an organization that helps children who are caught in the middle of difficult family situations, whether its divorce, substance abuse, domestic abuse, and so on. Woltjer says being on the receiving end of the donation was such a blessing to her and her organization.

All are invited to attend the next meeting of 100+ Women Who Care. The group will meet this Sunday, October 2 at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Sioux Falls. They will gather from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m.
