Keller’s Green Grocery To Host Halloween Treats Class

A new grocery store recently opened up on Phillips Avenue in downtown Sioux Falls and has already become a popular place to shop. Keller’s Green Grocery offers much more than healthy foods. It’s also offering cooking classes. Next Tuesday, you and the kids can take a class to learn how to make some Halloween treats.

Jessie Cochrun, supplement specialist at Keller’s, says she’ll be leading the class where parents and their kids will learn to make a number of chocolate treats that are allergy-friendly and can be vegan.

The class is Tuesday, October 25 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Adults cost $10 to attend, and children 15 and under are free. Click here for more information.

Googly-eye Recipe

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tsp non-dairy milk (can be substituted with dairy milk)
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • 1 Tbs light corn syrup

Mix all the ingredients together and let set for about 24 hours. Put it into a pastry bag to pipe into eyes on your chocolate treats.
