The Daily Scoop is our morning segment that highlights stories trending on social media.

World Series Goat Sandwiches

The World Series began last night with game one between the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians, and Cubs fans pulled out all the stops to turn the tables on a storied curse with goat sandwiches.

The Cubs haven’t won a World Series since 1908. As the story goes, a fan cursed the team when he was forced to leave Wrigley Field with his goat in 1945, and the Cubs have come up dry ever since.

Reports are that the new hickory smoked goat sandwich tastes like victory.

World Series Prediction in 1993

A senior quote in a 1993 yearbook now seems downright prophetic.

Back in 1993, Marcos Meza, who was then known as Michael Lee, wrote in his Mission Viejo High School yearbook: “Chicago Cubs. 2016 World Champions. You heard it here first.” Fast forward to 2016, and the cubs are in their first World Series in 71 years.

Meza was from Chicago but was raised in California and always maintained his allegiance to the windy city.

Bears Predict World Series

Grizzly bears at the Cleveland Zoo have predicted the winner of the World Series.

Two grizzly bears, Jackson and Cheyenne, were presented with two pumpkins coated in jam.

One pumpkin had the Cleveland Indian’s logo on it, and the other had the Chicago Cubs’ logo.

The first bear went for the Chicago Cubs’ pumpkin, sniffing, licking, and tasting the gourd. The second bear went for the Cleveland Indians’ pumpkin.

But in the end, both grizzlies chowed down on the same pumpkin, choosing the Cleveland Indians to win.
