SFPD On Bank Robbery Suspects: ‘They knew what they were doing.’

Sioux Falls Police say the suspects who robbed the Dakotah Bank near 26th Street and Marion Road Wednesday morning knew what they were doing.

Police say two men wearing Halloween masks walked into the bank at around 9:45 a.m. They say one of them had a gun.

Police say the men coraled the four bank employees, demanded cash and fled the scene in a car. One of the employees got the license plate number, and police were able to find the vehicle about a block away. Police say the car was stolen from 46th Street and Sertoma Avenue. They say it was unlocked, parked in the front of an apartment complex.

Witnesses say the men got into another car, but so far they don’t have a description of it.

Police say the suspect with the gun is around 5’5″ tall and 130 pounds. He was wearing a Halloween mask with a long beard, a baseball cap and sunglasses. The other suspect is around 6’0″ tall and 180 pounds. He was also wearing a mask.

Police urge anyone with information to call Crimestoppers at 367-7007.
