Sioux Falls Man Could Face More Charges After Assault Victim Dies

Police say the man who was beaten with a chair outside the Union Gospel Mission in late October has died.

Thirty-one-year-old Daniel Murillo of Sioux Falls is charged with aggravated assault,  but he could face more charges after the man he allegedly beat passed away from his injuries.

Police say on Oct. 30, Murillo walked up behind the 61-year-old sitting outside the mission and punched him several times. They say Murillo grabbed a chair and hit the victim in the head with it multiple times. Murillo allegedly swung the chair so many times, the chair broke. Police say Murillo even picked up a piece of the broken chair and continued to hit the victim.

Police say the attack was unprovoked.
