Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Balloons Checked

Thanksgiving is around the corner, and that means it’s time to test out the new giant character balloons that will take flight in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The new balloons include “Charlie Brown,” “Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” and Dreamworks’ Trolls “Felix the Cat.” A new creation, called “Trixie the Bouncing Dog,” has accordion legs and is designed to bounce up and down along the route.

This year is the 90th anniversary of the parade and more than 50 million people nationwide are expected to tune in to watch the holiday tradition.

The Mannequin Challenge

It’s not as funny as “planking,” but easier than having cold water dumped over you. Welcome to the new internet craze: the mannequin challenge.

The latest people to try it for the cameras were professional golfers practicing for the Asian tour’s Manila Masters. Presumably they will have loosened up by the start of the tournament later today.

The mannequin challenge is believed to have started in the U.S. in late October.

Football Teams Exchange Sweet Gestures

A touching moment from a high school football game in California had both teams cheering.

The game between Parlier High School and Riverdale started out like any other game, but number 12… Justo Bustos, returned the kickoff for Parlier High’s first touchdown of the night. Bustos, now a senior, has cerebral palsy, and running the length of a football field is no easy task. For four years, he’s served as honorary team captain and inspirational speaker.

Four years ago the opponent, Riverdale asked Parlier if they would let one of their special players score during a game. Last Friday, Parlier asked Riverdale to return the favor.
