Mitchell Savors First Playoff Era Title

Kernels Avenge Lone Defeat With Championship Game Win Over Harrisburg

For the first time in the playoff era, Mitchell is celebrating a state football championship!

The Kernels scored 31 unanswered points to pull away from Harrisburg last night in the 11AA state title game, winning 41-6.  It avenged Mitchell’s only loss of the season back in week one to Harrisburg.

The Kernels won the same way they did all season-with their running game.  Mitchell racked up 406 yards on the ground, a title game record 236 from our Karl’s TV & Appliance Athlete of the week Spencer Neugebauer to go along with touchdown runs.
