Sioux Falls Made Market Takes Over Cherapa Place Saturday

A huge craft market takes over the Cherapa Place downtown. It’s a great place to get handmade gifts from local artists and crafters.

Jodi Schwan, editor at The Sioux Falls Business Journal and founder of the Sioux Falls Made Market, says the idea started back in 2013 when they wanted to expand the Business Journal and help promote local artisans and share their stories. She says it’s been fun to watch the growth of the “maker movement” nationwide but especially here in Sioux Falls; she says there are so many creative, crafty people in the Sioux Empire.

The Sioux Falls Made Market began out the garage at the Argus Leader Media, but it quickly outgrew the space and now takes over the lower level of the parking garage at Cherapa Place. About 60 local vendors will have tables set up, the youngest being just 13 years old. You can find home decor, apparel, jewelry, bath products and more.

The Sioux Falls Made Market is at Cherapa Place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can find more details here.
