KDLT News Anchor
My name is Kelsie Passolt and I’m so excited to join the KDLT News team anchoring weeknight shows with Tom, Brandon and Mark!
I’ve spent most of my 26 years growing up in Hayward, Wisconsin, but I’m a Minnesota girl (and Vikings fan) at heart and by birth! I was born in the Minneapolis suburbs and spent the first couple years of life in Chaska living right on Hazeltine Golf Course, foreshadowing a lifetime ahead spent as a golfer.
I attended college at Northern Illinois University which is where I played four years of NCAA Division 1 Women’s Golf. Graduating in May of 2012, I immediately took my first journalism job not too far away from school in Rockford, Illinois, which is where I’ve been the last four years as an anchor and reporter.
I’m so excited for the opportunity to connect with you, the viewer, and make a real impact on your life with the information I present. I want to cover the stories you care most about and immerse myself in the community. I believe a good journalist is a true people-person and has a genuine interest in learning and understanding all new things. A good journalist is a good communicator and wants to tell stories– the good news and the bad news. I’m honored to have this opportunity in Sioux Falls.
I can’t wait to try new things here and this area has so much to offer! I have a slight advantage already with my brother, Josh Passolt, playing for the Sioux Falls Stampede! #GoHerd. We’ll be able to explore the community together, if he can make time for his big sis! I’m so looking forward to playing the golf courses in Sioux Falls and surrounding communities. I love the layout of Sioux Falls’ bike trail, I plan to put a lot of miles on that pavement. The downtown area is fantastic and Falls Park is a true community gem. I’ll be spending so much time at all of these places and more, so don’t be surprised if we meet in person very soon!
