Sioux Falls Shop Offers ‘Toys For Tats’

14th year of campaign for downtown tattoo shop

For the 14th year a Sioux Falls Tattoo Shop is collecting toys for children in need this holiday season as part of their ‘Toys For Tats’ Campaign.

Anyone who brings in a new toy to Vishnu Bunny Tattoo in downtown Sioux Falls, valued at $20 or more, gets half off a single tattoo or one session. Special prices are also being offered on piercings for anyone who brings in a toy valued at $10.

The event started on Nov. 25 and runs through Dec. 19. The shop’s owner says typically the community will bring in enough toys to line their entire wall. Right now, they’re about half-way there.

Vishnu Bunny Owner Jeff Mann said, “We actually have a lot of people that just stop in with no interest in a tattoo or piercing and just drop off a bag of toys and we have some of our regular customers that are really good and just come in with bags full of toys. They understand that it’s not as much about getting as discount as it is doing something good for the community.”

The shop asks that no one bring in toy knives or guns because some of the children are victims of domestic violence. The toys will be donated to the Children’s Inn and the Family Visitation Center in Sioux Falls.
