Red Kettle Goal Yet To Be Reached, Salvation Army Still Optimistic

SIOUX FALLS – On December 24th the Christmas Bells will ring for the last time in Sioux Falls for the Red Kettle Drive.  As of December 23rd the community of Sioux Falls has raised over $261,438.00 toward The Salvation Army’s Christmas goal of $350,000.00 for 2016.  We’re so grateful for your support.

Over 1,790 applications were taken for Christmas assistance which is an increase of more than 220 families than in 2015.  This year over 2,478 children received toys for Christmas which is also an increase over 2015.  Yet, there is still much which needs to be done for those seeking assistance during the coming year.

Your year end gift to The Salvation Army will help us to continue to provide much needed basic needs such as food for seniors and families through our food pantry, rent or utility assistance, transitional housing for veterans, youth programs for children and many other services and programs.

With over $88,500.00 still to be raised before December 24th your support is needed.   Red Kettles will be out through Christmas Eve.  Donations are also being accepted through our website at, by texting “Red Kettle” to 71777, by mailing a check to The Salvation Army, PO Box 1002, Sioux Falls, SD  57101 or by dropping off a check to our office at 800 N. Cliff Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD  57103 during the hours of 8:30 to 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.  (Please note we’ll be closed on Monday, December 26th in observance of Christmas.)

We live in a beautiful and vibrant community.  Our pledge is to continue our 127 year tradition of assisting as many individuals, in which we are able, with your generous donations to The Salvation Army of Sioux Falls.
