3 Teens Face Forgery, Theft Charges After Attempting To Use Fake Money

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Three teens are facing charges after police say they tried using fake money at Sioux Falls business.

18-year-old’s Mel Ruano Jr., Samuel Haddican, and a 16-year-old male of Sioux Falls are facing theft and forgery charges. Police say the 16-year-old was working at the business on 10th Street between South Mable and Blauvelt Avenues on July 6th.

They say the teen accepted the bill from the two-18-year-old’s knowing it was fake, and gave them change back. He told police that he received the bill from a marijuana deal.

The manager of the store made the discovery after reviewing surveillance footage.
