Canaries Win Road Trip Finale At Wichita

Nordgren & Ortega Combine For 1-0 Shutout

WICHITA, KS  —  After losing the first two games of the three-game series, the Canaries got revenge on Sunday, topping the Wingnuts 1-0. The lone run of the game was scored in the fifth inning when Burt Reynolds hit a solo home run. The blast was his eighth of the season and he picked up his 31st RBI on the play. Miles Nordgren was excellent in the win, throwing eight shutout innings while holding the Wingnuts to just seven hits. Nordgren (3-3) also struck out five batters.  Despite loading the bases, Jose Ortega earned the three-out save for his tenth save of the year.

The Canaries finished their eight game road trip against division leaders St. Paul and Wichita 5-3 and return home to face Fargo/Moorhead for the first of three Tuesday night.
