Police: Man Arrested After Argument Leads To Accidental Firearm Discharge
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Sioux Falls Police arrested 41-year-old Arian Wisaal on assault charges, after an argument with his wife and friend led to him to accidentally discharge his firearm.
Police say at around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night, Wissal was having an argument with his wife at a business in the 300 block of South Garfield Avenue in Sioux Falls. A friend of Wisaal was trying to stop the argument when Wisaal punched him. The friend left and went to another business to call for someone to pick him up. He realized that he left his phone and keys and went back to get them.
When he got back Wisaal grabbed a hammer and started threatening his friend. Police say this is when Wisaal’s wife stepped in, grabbing the hammer. Wisaal then grabbed a firearm from his waistband and attempted to slide the rail of gun before accidentally discharging it. The bullet passed the victim shattering the businesses window and hitting the front bumper of Wisaal’s vehicle.
The victim left and called police.
Wisaal was arrested on 2 counts of Aggravated Assault, and Simple Assault Charges.
