SF Police Arrest Man After Pulling Him From Big Sioux River

Sioux Falls Police say they had to rescue a man, who they believe was on drugs, from the Big Sioux River on Saturday.

Thirty-seven-year-old Marlin Siers was arrested for disorderly conduct and ingesting.

Police say they were called to 14th Street and 1st Avenue just before 8-30 for a man yelling at people and walking in the streets. They say they found him near River Boulevard and Mall Avenue where a retaining wall overlooks the Big Sioux River.

With help from Sioux Falls Fire Rescue, they were able to pull him from an embankment. Siers was taken to the hospital where he was treated and was then arrested.

Siers was also wanted on a warrant issued on July 19th out of Minnehaha County for failing to return to custody.
