Police: 3 Arrested On Fraud Charges After Attempting To Pass Fake Check

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Police arrested three people on fraud charges after they tried to cash a fake checks at several Sioux Falls banks.

The three people tried to pass a fake check at a Great Western Bank branch located on the 4900 block of West 41st Street on Tuesday. Police say they attempted to pass similar checks at other branches of the bank. The bank branches contacted each other and shared a picture of the suspects including a picture of their vehicle. The brand recognized the suspects and called police.

Once police arrived they arrested the three people on fraud charges. In their vehicle police also found meth, marijuana and paraphernalia.

Rebecca Milk, Joseph Gardener and Gretchen Scott all face one count of forgery, one count of possessing a forged instrument, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and paraphernalia charges.
