No Injuries Reported In Evening Business Fire

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.– Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to call about fire on the 300 Block of South Minnesota Avenue at around 6:45 P.M Tuesday evening. The caller reported smoke coming from a business on the north end of the building. Upon arrival, crews located a fire burning in the basement of 329 South Minnesota Avenue.

Fire crews extinguished the bulk of the fire in about 15 minutes but spent an hour removing smoke from the building including two other adjoining businesses.

The main business with the most damage was closed at the time of the fire. The entire building suffered moderate smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with two support vehicles, four fire trucks, and 18 firefighters.  Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was assisted by Paramedics Plus Ambulance, Mid-American Energy, Xcel energy, Red Cross, Sioux Falls Health Department, and Sioux Falls Police Department.
