Morning High-Speed Pursuit Causes Webster School Lockdown

WEBSTER, S.D. – Day county authorities say a lockdown at Webster school was a precautionary measure this morning.

In a facebook post, the Day County Sheriff’s office says multiple agencies were involved in a high-speed pursuit just after 8:30 this morning through the city of Webster. Authorities say they requested a lockdown at the school in case the suspect fled on foot and tried to hide somewhere.

They say there’s no threat to the public and that the suspect is now in custody.
