Victim Identified In Tuesday’s Fatal Traffic Accident

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Police have identified the victim in a fatal traffic accident Tuesday night.

54-year-old Sterling Spotted Elk, of Sioux Falls, was hit by a car and killed, a second victim is recovering in the hospital. The accident happened around 10 p.m. Tuesday night near the intersection of East 9th Street and South Cliff Avenue.

Police say the two men were crossing the street when a car struck them. Police say the driver had alcohol in his system but not enough to impair him and that the driver did stop and try to help the victims.
