Forum aims to encourage South Dakota employers to consider those with special needs for job vacancies

At a time many South Dakota employers are struggling to find help, or the right help, a reminder there may be a group of locals out there just waiting for the right opportunity. A special forum is scheduled for Wednesday, October 11 at the Swiftel Center in Brookings, featuring nationally renowned speaker, Chris Koch, to educate employers on the benefits of hiring someone with special needs. Koch, who was born with no arms or legs, is a farmer and rancher in his native Nanton, Alberta, when he’s not traveling the world as a motivational speaker. He comes to Brookings and Sioux Falls this week as part of National Disabilities Employment Awareness Month in South Dakota, and as a guest of the Brookings Area Human Resources Association.
