LGBTQ Quality Ratings Increase Again for Sioux Falls

Sioux Falls, S.D. – Sioux Falls continues to make progress when it comes to recognizing the LGBTQ community. Sioux Falls scored a 63 out of 100, which is more than 20 points higher than last year’s score.

The Municipal Equality Index looks at how inclusive municipal laws, policies, and services are of the LGBTQ people who live and work there.  Cities are rated based on non-discrimination laws, the municipality as an employer, municipal services, law enforcement, and the city leadership’s public position on equality.

Sioux Falls is one of nine cities in South Dakota scored by the Human Rights Campaign. Of those nine cities, Brookings received the highest score at 72. For the full report, click here
