Area Students Add Some Color to City Snow Plows

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.- In a matter of a couple months the Sioux Empire will start to see snow fall across the area and thanks to some area students the plows will have some color as they pick up the snow.

For the eighth year in a row, the city provided students with some snow plows at the beginning of the school year and today those 22 painted plows designed by the students were out on display at the Empire Mall on the east side of JCPenny. The public had a chance to vote for their favorite plow, the winning school will be announced on Monday. The mall says it’s always nice seeing the finished products and showing it off to the public.

“It’s just a great opportunity for the kids to show their creativity,” says Empire Mall Manager, Dan Gies. “There’s just a good amount of art that’s on these plows. It just gives them freedom to showcase a little bit of creativity,”

The top two plows will be displayed at the Parade of Lights.
