Jacks Keep Marker By Giving Bison Dose Of Their Own Medicine
SDSU Forces Five Turnovers & Holds NDSU To 106 Rushing Yards
BROOKINGS, S.D. — Aside from the fact Jackrabbit fans saw SDSU beat NDSU in Brookings for the first time since 2009, this years Dakota Marker victory over the Bison might have been sweeter than last years because the Jacks gave NDSU a taste of their own medicine.
The stars certainly came out on offense for SDSU in their 33-21 win over the Bison. Taryn Christion threw for 329 yards and two touchdowns while running for another. Dallas Goedert hauled in seven of those passes for 116 yards and this one handed touchdown catch in the fourth quarter that basically sealed the win.
Yet it was the Jackrabbit defense that stole the show, holding one of the top rushing attacks in the FCS to just 106 yards and forcing five turnovers. This just a few weeks after they were run over by Northern Iowa in an embarrassing Hobo Day loss that put their playoffs hopes in jeopardy.
SDSU hosts Illinois State next Saturday at 2 PM.
