7th Annual Feeding South Dakota Turkey Drive Kicks Off

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Feeding South Dakota is kicking off their 7th annual statewide turkey drive today.

Feeding South Dakota says the holiday season can be particularity stressful for food insecure families. Their goal this year is to provide 2,500 turkeys through their 400 charitable organizations, supporting over 555 partner agency programs across the state.

In Sioux Falls they are distributing 500 turkeys, along with potatoes and other traditional holiday fixings. A drive-thru giveaway will take place on Saturday, November 18th in Feeding South Dakota’s parking lot off Westport Avenue.

Feeding South Dakota says they are counting on the community to help by making cash and turkey donations. Cash donations can be made online at feedingsouthdakota.org or by a mail donation to 4701 N Westport Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57107.

Frozen turkey donations can be dropped off at Feeding South Dakota, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Each family will receive a ticket to enter the drive-thru area and volunteers will be on hand to give a turkey and fixings to each family in need.  Feeding South Dakota will be able to serve the first 500 families.
