Sioux Falls Man Charged With Making Terroristic Threats
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A Sioux Falls man is facing terroristic threat charges after police say he threatened to kill people inside a business.
Police say 22-year-old Yonas Abechu entered a business in the 1600 block of South Sycamore Avenue around 7 p.m. Saturday and began screaming that he was going to kill people.
15 to 20 people fled the business immediately. Police say Abechu eventually left the building and continued making threats. Employees prevented him from getting back inside and police say he was arrested nearby.
While police say he wasn’t armed with any weapons, Abechu has been charged with making terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.
Police say it’s unclear if drugs were a factor.
