Passenger Killed In Interstate Rollover Crash

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Icy road conditions played a role in an interstate crash that killed one man near the outskirts of Sioux Falls Monday.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says around 2 p.m., a Ford E150 truck was driving north on Interstate 29 over the 12th Street Bridge when it hit a patch of ice.  The driver, a 56-year-old man, lost control, the truck went into the east ditch and rolled.  The 64-year-old man riding in the truck died from his injuries.  The driver had minor injuries.  Both men were wearing seat belts.  The driver is not facing charges.

Both names have not been released and won’t be until family is notified.

The highway patrol is investigating the crash.
