Organizations Help Veteran Settle in New Home

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.- A former homeless veteran was honored today by two Sioux Falls organizations that helped him settle into his new apartment.

Step Up for Hero’s members and the U.S. Military Vets motorcycle club gathered at the Furniture Mission and helped load furniture for the veteran. All of the furniture was gifted to him for free by the Furniture Mission. Step Up for Heroes and the motorcycle club say their goal is to help people in the community.

“Regardless of their situation, we as a motorcycle club have an opportunity to help these guys. That’s what we are here for veterans helping veterans,” U.S. Military Vets Motorcycle Club Vice President, Jeremy Holien.

“To help out those that gave everything for our country, for my freedom, for our freedom. It’s a very special feeling and this is exactly what Step Up was developed for to help people like that,” says Step Up For Heroes member, Nick Luther.

The veteran, who was a bit camera shy says he is grateful for all the help.
