Driver Suffers Life Threatening Injuries After Crashing Into House

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.- A 21-year-old Sioux Falls man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after his 2001 Chrysler 300 crashed into a house. Sioux Falls Police say the accident happened around 3:30 a.m. in the 800 block of North Leadale Avenue. In that block of Leadale Avenue, there is a curve in the road. The car was traveling north on and was unable to stay on the roadway.

The driver hit the curb, grazed a tree in the boulevard, and struck a house. During the accident, the car flipped in the air and, while it was upside down, hit the front of the house. The car traveled across the front of the house and stopped in the garage. The driver is suffering from a skull fracture. No one in home was injured. Authorities say through their preliminary investigation it appears that speed is a factor and there are some indicators that alcohol may have been used.
