Power and Grace Gymnastics Opens New Gym at Sanford Sports Complex

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – It’s fair to say gymnastics students in Sioux Falls are “jumping for joy” at the opening of a new facility today.

Power and Grace Gymnastics officially opened their doors to the new and improved gymnastics gym at the Sanford Sports Complex.

The 18-year family owned business began the project eight months ago.  The new sixteen-thousand square foot gym includes two full competitive floors, several in-ground foam training pits and trampolines along with a thirteen-hundred square foot space dedicated to younger students.

Co-Owner Kathy Champoux says safety was a high priority when constructing the new building, “We have a lot of different landing surfaces so that kids could land on a competition surface. But they could also practice their dismounts and their landings on a softer “rezzi” matt or into a pit off of every piece of equipment. It gives them a huge advantage that way in training to keep them safe.”

Tuesday’s ribbon cutting also included a gymnastics demonstration from some of the first students to practice at the new facility.
